Built in the 1830's, this riverfront cathedral, located near the Gateway Arch, remains an active Catholic parish. Built in the Greek Revival style popular during the early 19th century, this church stands as a symbol of the early history of the city. The Old Cathedral Museum on the west side of the building houses 18th century artifacts and relics. A plaque commemorates the founding of the first St. Vincent de Paul Society of America in this cathedral in 1845. |
