Scheduled to reopen November 2008.] Descendants of slaves who once toiled here now operate and preserve beautiful WildWood Plantation, seeking to educate the public about the Civil War era and to encourage the preservation of historic structures. Reserve a spot in a weekend tour to view the 150-year-old house and be whisked back in time. The graceful, antebellum abode is adorned by full-length balconies and intricate woodwork. The plantation is listed on the National Register of Historic Homes.
