Located in the historic Central West End, this St. Louis institution, which was founded in 1969, is the only independent, full-service bookstore in the St. Louis area. The store stocks books with a cultural and progressive political focus. They specialize in modern literature and poetry, multicultural children's books, contemporary arts, political analysis, and African-American, feminist, gay, and lesbian works. They also feature an extensive used book section.
